The Antitrust Modernization Commission (AMC) was established by Congress to consider whether and, if so, how the antitrust laws should be modernized. One issue being studied is the role of State Attorneys General in antitrust enforcement. The NAAG Antitrust Task Force, under Chairs Trish Conners and Bob Hubbard, began to collect data on state antitrust enforcement to inform the AMC's deliberations. The State Center retained two NYU law students, Tricia Bushnell and Yisroel Schwartz, to assist in completing the project. They were supervised by the State Center's Executive Director and by Harry First, the Charles L. Denison Professor of Law at NYU Law School.
The data were utilized by Professor First in his recent testimony before the AMC. Other comments submitted to the AMC on this issue include those of Attorney General Steve Rowe of Maine, Chief Assistant Attorney General Tom Greene of California, and the State Center's President Kevin O'Connor and Executive Director Steve Houck.
